What if I am a beginner?

I believe everyone has an inate musical talent. If you can speak, you can sing. We just need to build the foundation. Breath is where it all begins and the singing voice is a sustained version of speaking. With time and practice you will be able to confidence and ease.

Do you teach only in person?

I live near Dekalb and have a studio near my home. I find it is better to see and hear someone in person, but if you are unable to travel, I am more than happy to work with you over FaceTime or Zoom.

What voice types do you train?

Having started as a bass in college and now singing tenor roles throughout the world, I am very comfortable with the male voice. My wife is a soprano (she too teaches) and I am more than happy to work with sopranos and mezzo sopranos too.

Do you teach masterclasses?

Yes! I have worked with young artists at many opera companies, and students at universites/colleges. If you are interested in having me work with up and coming young people in your program, please contact me through one of the links above.
